Herrold went on to attribute the improvement to Facebook’s ability to optimize its ads for the proper audience and better target them. Part of that effort is Facebook Exchange, which was launched last September and lets marketers pitch ads to users based on their browsing history, whether that browsing occurs on or off Facebook.
